Branding case study

Department of Justice
The client
The Department of Justice covers all government activities involved with reform, administration and enforcement of the law. The portfolio encompasses police; courts; prisons; emergency services; regulation of gaming, racing, liquor licensing and trade measurement; the drafting of legislation; and the administration of various tribunals and programs to protect citizens' rights.
The objective
The department needed to brand all of its external and internal communications to show that they were from the one department.
The process
A series of brainstorming sessions with staff helped develop a comprehensive brief that outlined the department's values in visual terms.
The outcome
The 'docking' of the department's name with the state logo gave a clear statement of the department's positioning.
