The client:
The Financial Ombudsman Service was born from an amalgamation of three ombudsman schemes: the Banking and Financial Services Ombudsman (BFSO), the Financial Industry Complaints Service (FICS) and the Insurance Ombudsman Service (IOS). The scheme’s role is to independently and impartially resolve disputes between consumers and financial services providers.
The problem:
One logo to reflect three independent schemes. Be mindful that other schemes may be joining in the future. Workshop the development with key decision-makers.
The solution:
Develop a mark that works on the similarities rather than differences between the schemes. Each mediation includes a complainant, a member and the conciliator – illustrated as three arrows all pointing toward the same focal point. The circle encompassing the units communicates the pathway of conciliation, as well as an ‘O’ for ombudsman.
