The client:
The Danks family have been involved in hardware since the late 1880's. In 1993 they headed a buying group of hardware stores located around Australia. The hardware stores were branded under a few different retail names.
The problem:
Unite a group of disparate hardware stores distributed throughout Australia.
The solution:
Sometimes simplicity is the key. We took ownership of a colour – turquoise – and designed the minimalist of logos to ensure that the 45 signwriters employed around Australia could maintain a consistent quality. Pre-computers, photographs of each store were mailed to us so we could document painting guidelines suitable for local tradesmen.
The success of this design is proven by it's consistency in the marketplace for over 17 years.
