The client:
The Department of Education (now 'The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development) is one of the ministries of the Victorian parliament.
The objective:
There were a number of high-profile anaphylaxis attacks in 2006/07. The
Department of Education undertook to provide each school with
information on identifying and treating an anaphylaxis attack, along
with an EpiPen and directions for use. They wanted to supply a sustainable unit that could be updated as needed over the next few years.
The solution:
MBd commissioned Steph Ransom to supply a quirky, friendly illustration
that visually united the group of disparate materials. Strong colours,
and a durable polypropylene shelf package ensured that the kit was
easily recognisable, and accessed in an emergency. The size of the
package meant that material could be added over the next few years. MBd
handled the project from concept through to production and distribution
into every Victorian school.
